Uniflor™8771:适用于半导体和真空状态

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a bioaccumulative chemical. While studies conducted by the Center for Disease Control have found that PFOAs remain in the body over time, it remains inconclusive as to whether they have long term consequences for health. The European Union (EU) has decided to take the conservative approach to PFOAs with new regulatory practices under REACH legislature.

Under REACH, products sold to or manufactured within the EU will be restricted to detectable limits of less than 25 parts per billion (ppb) of PFOA and its salts. REACH legislation was passed in June of 2017 and has been rolled out in phases with all manufacturers expected to fully comply by July of 2020. There have been contingencies for the use of PFOA-related substances in semiconductor manufacturing to ease this transition, but they will require full compliancy by July 2022. There has been a recent push from healthcare and environmental organizations to pass similar legislation in the United States.

PFOA, also known as C8, is a man-made chemical used in the process of making PTFE and similar chemicals. Although it is burned off during the process and is not present in significant amounts in the final products, PFOA has been identified as having the potential to be a health concern because it can stay in the environment and in the human body for long periods of time. In response to the new REACH guidelines concerning PFOA content, Nye has dedicated research and development resources to these important issues to offer Semicon/In-Vacuum lubricants that meet the REACH requirement of detectable limits of less than 25 ppb.

Uniflor™ 8771: REACH Compliant

In our efforts to help industries comply with REACH regulations, Nye offers Uniflor™ 8771 a PTFE thickened, medium viscosity, completely fluorinated grease whose detectable PFOA content is less than 25 ppb. As robotics used in semiconductor manufacturing can be exposed to high vacuum, high temperature conditions, and are occasionally in contact with aggressive chemicals, Uniflor™ 8771 offers extremely low outgassing, particle generation, and vapor pressure characteristics to extend the in-vacuum bearing life. This grease will replace existing MRO lubricants that may not comply with REACH regulations.
